There have been some interesting developments as far as Arsenal’s summer business goes. Partey now appears likely to stay. Meanwhile, Arsenal has registered an interest in Mohammed Kudus from Ajax and wants to sell Nicolas Pepe. Let’s dive into the details.

Arsenal Summer Business Part 6: Thomas Partey Will Likely Stay at Arsenal

Thomas Partey appears to be likely to stay at Arsenal now. As previously covered, some Saudi Pro League clubs would like to sign Thomas Partey. The Saudi Pro League has signed a number of well-known players from top European leagues in recent months.

However, Partey is unlikely to join that list at this point. Arteta reiterated Thomas Partey’s importance to Arsenal and downplayed the chances of a Partey exit from Arsenal. This is a good move for the club. Partey is likely to play a significant role for Arsenal next season and is still a very good player.

Arsenal Is Interested in Mohammed Kudus

Ajax and Arsenal could be involved in another transfer. The Gunners are reportedly interested in Mohammed Kudus. Kudus is 22 years old and currently plays as an attacking midfielder.

However, Kudus is versatile and can play as a right winger, as well. This versatility is likely one reason why Arsenal has registered an interest in him. If the transfer happens, Kudus would likely provide cover for Saka on the right wing.

Kudus is a promising player and he should still continue to improve. If Arsenal can secure a transfer for Kudus for the right price, it would be a good move. We shall see what happens on that front.

Arsenal Summer Business Part 6: Arsenal Want to Sell Nicolas Pepe

Meanwhile, Arsenal is generally shifting focus to outgoings at this point. One player that Arsenal would like to sell is Nicolas Pepe. Pepe only has one year left on his contract and has failed to live up to expectations after Arsenal paid 72 million pounds.

That was a club record fee at the time. Pepe is still earning high wages, which complicates a move away from the club. The Gunners will reportedly accept a lower transfer fee for Pepe at this point.

A move away from Arsenal is the best outcome for both Arsenal and Pepe. Pepe is unlikely to play very much for Arsenal next season. Hopefully, Arsenal can sell Pepe and receive a reasonable fee for him.

The Gunners Will Continue Their Preseason Tour Amidst Transfer Activity

Arsenal still has some preseason games remaining before the start of next season. The Gunners will no doubt continue their transfer activity amidst their preseason games. I would bet that Arsenal signs a player to provide cover for Bukayo Saka.
