Thomas Partey seems almost certain to stay at Arsenal. Meanwhile, the Gunners are considering moves for Brentford’s David Raya and Gremio’s Bitello. Let’s dive deeper into all of this transfer news.
Arsenal Summer Business Part 7: Thomas Partey Will Remain at Arsenal Unless There is a Huge Bid
There was some uncertainty about Thomas Partey’s future at Arsenal. However, Partey appears incredibly unlikely to leave Arsenal at this point. The Gunners reportedly want at least 40-45 million pounds to even consider selling Partey.
The Saudi Pro League interest in Partey has cooled. Additionally, Arteta wants Partey to stay and is happy with his recent performances. Considering all this, Partey leaving Arsenal right now is very unlikely.
This is good news for the Gunners. Partey can and likely will play in Arsenal’s midfield alongside Declan Rice. Retaining Partey strengthens the Gunners ahead of next season.
Arsenal May Make a Move for David Raya
Aaron Ramsdale is quite secure as Arsenal’s number-one goalkeeper. Matt Turner has done well as Arsenal’s backup goalkeeper. Given those facts, it is surprising to see the Gunners considering a move for Brentford’s number-one goalkeeper David Raya.
It is important to add that Nottingham Forest might try to sign Matt Turner. If Turner leaves Arsenal, then a move for Raya makes more sense. As things stand, Arsenal aggressively pursuing Raya doesn’t seem particularly likely.
Brentford want around 40 million pounds for Raya. We will see what happens.
Arsenal Summer Business Part 7: Arsenal Could Sign Bitello from Gremio
The Gunners have already invested heavily in their midfield with the signings of Rice and Havertz. Now, Arsenal is linked with a move for Gremio’s 23-year-old central midfielder, commonly known as Bitello. However, this would be a much cheaper signing.
According to reports, the Gunners could sign Bitello for around six to seven million pounds. Bitello is a talented young Brazilian player and many Brazilian players have succeeded at Arsenal. If Arsenal can sign Bitello, it would be an interesting addition to the team.
In the event that Bitello joins the Gunners, he may play on the right wing, as well. Bitello has some experience playing as a right-winger. Saka does need some cover at right wing. Despite the fact that Bitello isn’t well-known among many Arsenal fans, he is a promising young player who can develop further.
Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web claims that Arsenal will complete the signing of Bitello this week. However, that is only a claim and has not been confirmed. We will track this potential signing as the situation develops.
The Gunners Could Complete Another Signing Soon
It is possible that Arsenal could complete another signing soon. We will see what happens. I would bet that Arsenal will complete at least one more signing before the end of the 2023 summer transfer window.
