It may be the October international break, but there is still plenty to discuss when it comes to Arsenal. The Gunners want to sign players in the winter transfer window. Let’s dive deeper into the details.
Arsenal Transfer Rumors Part One: Ivan Toney Is on Arsenal’s Radar
Ivan Toney was Brentford’s star player last season and likely would be their star player again if not for his gambling-related ban from football until January 2024. Regardless, his quality is undeniable. Toney is an incredibly complete forward, with ruthless finishing, great chance creation, superb aerial ability, and excellent movement to throw off defenders.
As a result, it is no surprise that Arsenal is linked with a winter transfer for Ivan Toney. Brentford values Toney at around 60 million pounds. Toney would immediately improve this Arsenal team, given that he’s better than Nketiah and Jesus has not had the blazing start to this season that he did last season.
Additionally, Toney apparently considers Arsenal his preferred choice if he leaves Brentford in the winter transfer window. Arsenal should aggressively pursue Toney if it is possible to get a deal done in the winter transfer window.
Arsenal Transfer Rumors Part One: Arsenal Is Considering Signing Pedro Neto
One of Arsenal’s main transfer objectives is giving Bukayo Saka some cover on the right wing. Because of this, the Gunners’ links with a winter transfer for Pedro Neto make perfect sense. Neto is one of Wolves’ best players and would provide excellent cover for Saka on Arsenal’s right wing.
Neto’s Wolves contract runs until 2027. This means he would likely be expensive. However, with Wolves’ financial difficulties, they may have to sell Neto if they receive a reasonable transfer offer. Arsenal should aggressively move to sign Neto, as well, given how well he would fit into the team.
The Gunners Lead the Bidding War for Belgian Wonderkid Arthur Vermeeren
Arsenal is apparently leading the bidding war for a Belgian wonderkid named Arthur Vermeeren, as well. Vermeeren is an 18-year-old midfielder and currently plays for Royal Antwerp. Some view him as the next Andres Iniesta.
Barcelona and Manchester United also hold an interest in him. Partey’s persistent injury problems make this a sensible transfer for the Gunners. Royal Antwerp value Vermeeren at 17 million pounds.
We will see what happens, but further midfield investment is likely a good idea for Arsenal.
Arsenal Returns to Action on Saturday
The Gunners return to action on Saturday when they travel to Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea. Arsenal has played far better than Chelsea this season, so it is a good bet that Arsenal will beat Chelsea again. The Gunners have been fantastic away from home in the Premier League so far this season.
