The Heat started their Summer League campaign. In that campaign, the Heat’s Summer League team has won twice and lost twice. Alec Burks joined the Heat as we previously discussed, but he hasn’t played for the team yet. Additionally, Bam Adebayo is part of Team USA and played 21 minutes in a showcase game against Team Canada. Without further ado, let’s discuss all of this.

Heat 2024 Offseason Part 8: Summer League Has Started

It is sensible to start by talking about the Heat’s Summer League games. In their most recent Summer League game, the Heat beat the Lakers 80-76. Keshad Johnson was the Heat’s best performer in that game with 21 points, nine rebounds, three assists, three blocks, and three steals.

Additionally, in the previous Summer League game against the Kings, Kel’el Ware is the player who stood out the most. Ware had 26 points, 11 rebounds, one block, and three assists in the Heat’s dominant win over the Kings. It is good to see the Heat’s rookies and two-way players play well so far.

We will see who earns the Heat’s final roster spot, if anyone does.

Bam Adebayo Played 21 Minutes with Team USA

As previously stated, Team USA is starting to prepare for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Bam Adebayo is part of the team. Adebayo played 21 minutes and had six points and seven rebounds in Team USA’s 86-72 win over Team Canada. Team USA got off to a poor start, trailing Team Canada 11-1, but recovered and played much better in the second half.

Also, Bam Adebayo is a key part of Team USA’s defense and showed that in this game. It is great to see Adebayo play well with Team USA. Hopefully, Adebayo can win another gold medal with Team USA in Paris.

Heat 2024 Offseason Part 8: The Heat Re-Signed Haywood Highsmith

After losing Caleb Martin to the Sixers, it was critical for the Heat to re-sign Haywood Highsmith. Thankfully, they did just that. Highsmith returns to the Heat on a two-year, $11 million contract. This is a fair contract and ensures that the Heat will have his much-needed perimeter defense for at least a while longer. This is a good move by the Heat.

The Heat Will Continue Summer League Soon

The Heat will continue playing Summer League games soon. Jaime Jaquez, who was chosen for the Team USA Select Team, will join the team soon. His selection is further proof of his potential and any merchandise related to him has quickly become quite popular among Heat fans. It will be interesting to see how the Heat’s younger players perform in the rest of the Summer League games.

Hopefully, they all play well. Pelle Larsson and Kel’el Ware will naturally attract plenty of attention as the Heat’s newest drafted rookies. Check back next week for more Miami Heat content.
