The summer transfer window continues to get closer. As a result, there are plenty of rumors involving incoming and outgoing players at Arsenal. Let’s review the second week of transfer rumors surrounding Arsenal.

Summer Transfer Outgoing: Matteo Guendouzi

Matteo Guendouzi has not played for Arsenal since June 2020, but he was still technically an Arsenal player until recently. He and Arteta did not see eye-to-eye and he didn’t seem to fit Arteta’s system, either. Guendouzi spent the 2020-2021 season on loan at Hertha Berlin prior to another loan move to Marseille. This loan deal to Marseille included a 9.3 million pound obligation to buy clause.

With Guendouzi having now played his 38th match for Marseille, that obligation to buy clause has been activated. It is not surprising that he has left Arsenal. This is the first confirmed outgoing for Arsenal in this summer transfer window.

Alexandre Lacazette

Alexandre Lacazette ran down his contract at Arsenal and is now available on a free transfer. Arsenal officially announced that he will leave the club at the end of his current contract. Lacazette has dropped hints that he wants to play for a club that will compete in the Champions League next season. That would rule out his former club Lyon, who finished eighth in Ligue 1 last season. However, Lyon are still said to be interested in him.

Lucas Torreira

Lucas Torreira is another player who has rarely played for Arsenal following Arteta’s appointment as manager. He did win the FA Cup with Arsenal in 2020 following his recovery from an ankle injury in a match against Portsmouth. He spent last season on loan with Fiorentina in Serie A. Fiorentina failed to activate his buy option for roughly 13 million pounds. With this in mind, Lazio are reportedly preparing to make a move for Torreira.

Summer Transfer Window Potential Incomings: Gabriel Jesus

As previously mentioned, Gabriel Jesus is one of Arsenal’s top targets this summer. According to The Sun, Arsenal have stepped up negotiations and are willing to offer Jesus a 200,000 pound per week salary. Arsenal are said to be leading the race for Gabriel Jesus. It is expected that negotiations will progress after the end of the June international break.

Summer Transfer Window Possible Incoming: Gianluca Scamacca

Arsenal have been linked with many strikers even at this early stage. Arsenal have supposedly seen a 34 million pound bid for the Sassuolo striker rejected. Sassuolo reportedly want 40 million pounds or more for Scamacca. Scamacca scored 16 goals in 38 games for Sassuolo last season.

Aaron Hickey

Bologna full-back Aaron Hickey is another target for Arsenal this summer. Arsenal executives had a meeting with Bologna transfer chief Riccardo Bigon in London. Bologna would apparently be willing to part with Aaron Hickey for around 20 million pounds. However, Brentford has also shown interest in Hickey.

Arsenal Could Strengthen the Team with Good Business

That is it for now. The summer transfer window opens on June 10th, so hopefully, we will have some done deals to cover next week. You can also bet on where Arsenal will finish next season following any done deals. Check back in next week to stay up to date with Arsenal rumors and deals in this summer transfer window.
