Bam Adebayo continues to play with Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Team USA is now 2-0 after a 103-86 victory against Team South Sudan. Since the Heat concluded Summer League by winning the Summer League title, as we previously covered, the focus is now on Bam Adebayo’s time at the Olympics. Heat 2024 Offseason Part 11: Bam Adebayo Excels vs. South Sudan
South Sudan gave Team USA a scare in a pre-Olympic warmup game. South Sudan nearly pulled off an upset but LeBron James came to the rescue in a narrow Team USA win in that game. However, this is not what happened against South Sudan when Team USA faced them a second time.
Team USA dominated much of the game and kept South Sudan at bay, winning 103-86. Bam Adebayo played very well against South Sudan. Adebayo had 18 points, seven rebounds, one assist, one steal, and two blocks. Additionally, Adebayo scored efficiently, shooting 8/10 from the field and 2/3 from three-point range.
His impact on the game is clear to see from his +22 plus-minus rating, even though he only played 20 minutes. It is great to see Bam Adebayo play well with Team USA. He is a crucial part of the team and should continue playing a major role off the bench. Other players might have to lose minutes, but Team USA coach Steve Kerr shouldn’t even consider not playing Adebayo at this point.

Team USA Has Now Qualified for the Quarterfinals
The win against South Sudan means that Team USA has qualified for the quarterfinals prior to their final group phase game against Puerto Rico. However, Team USA wants to finish the group phase as the #1 seed, so that game still means something. Team USA will probably easily beat Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico has performed quite poorly at men’s basketball so far in these Olympics.
Bam Adebayo Faces Puerto Rico with Team USA Saturday Morning
Team USA faces Puerto Rico at 11:15 AM today. This game does matter despite Team USA already having qualified for the quarterfinals. as mentioned. Hopefully, Team USA will dominate Puerto Rico in a lopsided win and Bam Adebayo will play a major role in that victory.
