However, the Miami Heat recently held their media day ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season. This event provided some insight into the team’s mindset. The Heat also signed Nassir Little. Heat 2024 Offseason Part 13: Jimmy Butler Agrees with Pat Riley’s Concerns about His Availability
Jimmy Butler arrived late to the Heat’s media day. However, this seems far less important than some people think. It is important to note that Butler acknowledged Pat Riley’s concerns about his availability and agreed with them. Butler stated that he wants to be available more often in the upcoming season.
Additionally, Butler downplayed the lack of a contract extension offer from the Heat. It is good to see Butler recognize that his injury issues were a major problem last season. Butler does need to be available more. Despite his positive attitude, his age and recent injury issues mean that another injury-plagued season for Butler is possible. Hopefully, that doesn’t happen, but it could.
Tyler Herro States He is Ready to Accept Whatever Role Spoelstra Gives Him
Tyler Herro clearly wants to be a starter on the Miami Heat. This is no surprise, given his age and talent. However, Herro claims that he is willing to accept whatever role Spoelstra deems appropriate for him in the upcoming season.
Many Heat fans point to statistics that indicate that Herro helps the team more off the bench. This is a fair point to make. Duncan Robinson seems better-suited to start in Herro’s position for this team. In any case, Herro accepting his role is good for the team, whatever role that may be.
Heat 2024 Offseason Part 13: Nassir Little Signs with the Heat
Former Portland Trailblazer forward Nassir Little has signed with the Miami Heat. The team didn’t announce details of the contract, but it is likely a minimum contract. The Trailblazers drafted Little in 2019 and he was a solid forward for the team. We will see what role Little plays on the Heat. Ideally, he will be able to contribute to winning basketball.
The Heat’s Season Starts in Three Weeks
The Heat begin their 2024-25 season in about three weeks against their Florida rivals, the Orlando Magic. The Magic were much-improved last season and went to seven games against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the 2024 NBA playoffs. The Heat will have to play well to win that game.
